Hawai‘i’s top inter-island cargo airline supports Moloka‘i’s iconic two-day event celebrating sport, culture, and community.
HONOLULU, HI – Kamaka Air, Hawai‘i’s leading inter-island cargo and charter airline, is proud to announce its partnership with Moloka‘i Holokai Ho‘olaule‘a, the distinguished paddle festival held annually on Moloka‘i. Scheduled for July 18–19, 2025, this two-day paddling celebration includes the Maui-to-Moloka‘i channel crossing, community paddles, beach cleanups, fun runs, cultural workshops, and more. Kamaka Air will provide essential air transport for gear, equipment, and safety materials—ensuring seamless logistics throughout the event.
The Moloka‘i Holokai Ho‘olaule‘a is more than a race—it’s a cultural experience. Beginning with the epic Pā‘ilio Channel paddle from Maui to Moloka‘i, participants race across one of the world’s premier downwind channels. Day Two continues with Moloka‘i’s festive Kamalo Run, alongside keiki and makua races, a community fun run, cultural workshops, and environmental outreach at Kaunakakai Harbor—complete with music, food, local vendors, and community gathering ceremonies.
“Connecting paddlers with the beauty of Moloka‘i is truly inspiring,” said George Ka‘anana, President of Kamaka Air. “We’re honored to help move critical gear and safety resources to support the event’s success and champion the spirit of aloha and community stewardship embodied by Moloka‘i Holokai.”
Organized by Youth in Motion and the Stand Up Paddle Association of Moloka‘i, Moloka‘i Holokai centers on youth empowerment, cultural heritage, and environmental responsibility. The festival emphasizes caring for ʻāina and kai—aligning closely with Kamaka Air’s mission to support island communities and cultural preservation.
“Kāne, keiki, and wahine from across Hawai‘i come together for this event,” explained Clare Albino, lead organizer. “Thanks to Kamaka Air’s support, we can transport gear safely and focus on building cultural connections, fostering healthy lifestyles, and preserving our ocean resources.”
Kamaka Air’s commitment will be highlighted during the event and promoted via social media, helping spotlight the essential role of logistics in making Moloka‘i’s athletic and cultural traditions accessible. This collaboration reflects a shared belief in celebration, connection, and care for Hawai‘i’s natural and cultural heritage.
