At Kamaka Air, we’re committed to making interisland shipping simple, reliable, and convenient. Most services, quotes, bookings, payments, and tracking—can be completed online before you arrive. If you prefer, our team can also assist you in person when you drop off your freight.
1. What time can I drop off freight?
Cutoff times vary by origin and destination. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the cutoff to ensure your freight makes the flight.
Honolulu (Daniel K. Inouye International Airport):
- To Lana‘i City, Lana‘i / Ho‘olehua, Moloka‘i: 8:30 AM (Mon–Fri)
- To Kahului, Maui: 11:00 AM (Mon–Fri)
- To Lihue, Kaua‘i: 11:30 AM (Mon–Fri, space available, subject to cancellation)
Kahului, Maui:
- To Honolulu, Lana‘i City, or Moloka‘i: 12:00 PM (Mon–Fri)
Lana‘i City, Lana‘i:
- To Honolulu, Kahului, or Lihue: 9:00 AM (Mon–Fri)
- To Ho‘olehua, Moloka‘i: 6:00 AM (Mon–Fri)
Ho‘olehua, Moloka‘i:
- To Lana‘i City: 6:00 AM (Mon–Fri)
- To Kahului: 9:00 AM (Mon–Fri)

2. What is the drop-off time for same-day shipping?
For same-day delivery to Lana‘i or Moloka‘i, freight must be dropped off in Honolulu by 8:30 AM.
Book Online: Complete your booking online before 8:30 AM and drop off freight before the cutoff to guarantee same-day service.
At the Counter: If you’re booking in person, arrive at least 30 minutes before the cutoff so there’s time to process paperwork.
3. When will my freight arrive in Honolulu?
Arrival times vary based on flight schedules and aircraft availability.
Online: Use our Track Freight tool to check status in real time.
At the Counter: Ask our staff for an estimated arrival window when you drop off your shipment.
4. Does Kamaka Air ship hazardous freight?
Yes. Hazardous materials and dangerous goods are accepted as part of our Special Cargo Services.
Book Online: Begin your hazardous shipment booking online and indicate the cargo type.
At the Counter: Our staff will verify paperwork and packaging requirements.
5. Does shipping hazardous freight require paperwork?
Yes. A Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods is required by law.
Online: Download and complete the form ahead of time and bring it with you.
At the Counter: Forms are available, and our team can guide you through completing them.
6. Will someone call me when my freight arrives in Honolulu?
We do not routinely call when freight arrives.
Online: Use our Track Freight tool for 24/7 updates.

8. Are there discounts for Federal or State employees?
No discounts are currently offered.
9. Are there discounts for nonprofit organizations?

10. Does Kamaka Air still fly to Lihue or Kona?
- Lihue, Kaua‘i: Limited, space-available flights (subject to cancellation).
- Kona, Hawai‘i Island: No scheduled service; charters available on request.
Online: Check availability when booking.
At the Counter: Our staff can confirm routes.
11. What are your hours of operation?
- Monday–Friday: 5:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (limited charter service)
- Sunday: Closed
12. Can I pay for my shipment online or by phone?
Online: Pay securely through our Make Payment portal.
AI Phone Service: Pay by phone with a credit card (processing fees may apply).
At the Counter: Pay with card or approved methods at drop-off.
13. Will my shipment be delivered on Lana‘i or Moloka‘i?
Yes. Local delivery options are available.
Online: Select delivery when booking.
At the Counter: Arrange delivery with our staff or pick up freight within 48 hours of arrival.
14. How are quotes calculated?
Pricing is based on actual weight or dimensional weight, whichever is greater.
Online: Use the Get a Quote tool for an estimate. Final pricing will be confirmed at drop-off.
At the Counter: Packages are weighed and measured for accurate pricing.
15. Can a relative or friend pick up my shipment?
Yes, with proper authorization.
Online: Add an “Authorized Pickup Person” to your booking.
At the Counter: Provide a signed authorization and ensure the person has valid photo ID.
16. Do I need to create an online booking before dropping off freight?
Not required, but strongly recommended.
Online: Booking ahead secures space, speeds processing, and reduces wait time.
At the Counter: Our team can create a booking on arrival, but this may take longer.
17. How can I get a quote for my freight?
You can quickly get an estimate online by visiting KamakaAir.com. Enter the dimensions and weight of your shipment into our freight calculator.
If you prefer, you’re always welcome to visit any Kamaka Air counter, where our team can provide you with a quote in person.
