Job Description

Cargo Clerk duties include any one or a combination of duties include cargo warehousing and cargo services including telephone sales, customer information, the loading and unloading of cargo and mail, aircraft and ground equipment operation, as well as cleaning, and other cargo office duties. In addition, other duties within the normal scope of cargo work and to ensure optimum customer service and maximum effort in achieving departmental goals.

Essential Duties

Receives counter orders from customers and arranges for pickup of freight and delivery to loading platform.
Assembles cargo according to destination.
Weighs, and measures items to determine costs using established rates.
Direct or participate in cargo loading in order to ensure completeness of load and even distribution of weight.
Itemizes charges, prepares freight bills, accepts payments and issues refunds.
Adhere to required security procedures and hazardous material handling requirements.
Perform operations in conjunction with the loading and unloading of mail.
Adhere to required security procedures at Air Cargo and with equipment handling.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Routes inbound and outbound air freight shipments to their destinations.
Unloads inbound freight and notifies consignees on arrival of shipments and arranges for delivery to consignees.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalency preferred.
The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects of 75 lbs. maximum weight.
Possess a valid driver’s license, ability to obtain an Airport Motor Vehicle Operating Permit, and the ability to obtain certification to operate forklift trucks for the purpose of loading and unloading freight.
Must be able to work independently in a fast paced environment and is detail oriented.
Available to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
Basic typing and computer skills are required.
Ability to perform basic math calculations.
Good communication skills.

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Job Description

Responsible for supervising the daily cargo handling activities of Kamaka Air, and the ground handling staff. Supervise the freight operations and implement approved processes that ensure customer satisfaction. Interact with all levels and departments within the company, as well as external organizations.

Essential Duties

Supervision of flight handling (loading/unloading aircraft, weight and balance, dangerous goods and special cargo)
Accurate documentation
Knowledge of governmental agency regulatory requirements
Coordination with other Kamaka Air stations, and departments on all cargo matters

Facilitate daily activities by identifying problems and recommending solutions to maintain proper compliance with company standards and goals.
Attend job specific training as required.
Conduct and monitor on-the job training and development.
Other administrative tasks may include some required budget assistance; payment processing, personnel activities, and staff scheduling.

Education and/or Experience

The ideal candidate has job-related experience, proven leadership skills, organized, with great attention to detail.
Must possess a complete understanding of the freight operations with the ability to act as a lead person.
High level of own initiative, motivation to participate in further training and knowledge transfer, interest in knowledge management and experience of innovative problem solutions.
High level of excellent computer skills.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, 5-year background check, 10-year criminal history check and security threat assessment.
